Pliny the Younger ticket sales and tapping!

The time is here everybody! Below is everything you need to know about how we will be spreading the Pliny the Younger love this year!

Ticket sales begin on Saturday February 27th at 11am!

- Tickets go on sale at 11am!
- Pliny the Younger will be tapped on Thursday, March 3rd at 11am and will ONLY BE SERVED TO VALID TICKET HOLDERS!
- You will need your ID both for purchasing tickets, and for redeeming tickets.
- There will be a maximum of 2 tickets sold to one person.
- We will only allow 1 ticket to be redeemed per person on Thursday. (So, you can buy two tickets, and come up here with a friend to have one, but you can’t have both of them, capeesh?)
- Tickets will be $5 each, which gets you a single 8oz pour.
- The tickets are non-refundable.

Keg is tapped on Thursday March the 3rd at 11am!

- You may redeem your ticket any time between 11am and 11pm on Thursday, March 3rd.
- We will have plenty of tasty treats other than Pliny the Younger on tap, as usual!
- You will only get 1 8oz pour of Pliny the Younger with a valid ticket.
- There will not be any refunds for non-redeemed tickets.

Hello everybody,

It’s your trusty beer buyer Clark here to let you know what’s up with this year’s Pliny the Younger, since we have been getting lots of questions about it. Here’s a handy dandy FAQ!

Q: Do you guys ever get Pliny the Younger?
A: Yes, we do, every year when they brew it.

Q: Will there be bottles of Pliny the Younger?
A: No, Russian River does not bottle the Younger.

Q: Will you guys have Pliny the Elder bottles?
A: Russian River does not distribute PtE bottles to Oregon any more, and I don’t see this changing any time soon.

Q: So when will you guys tap your Pliny the Younger?
A: Once we get the keg, I’ll let you know.

Q: Can I get a growler fill of Pliny the Younger?
A: We like to spread the love, so no, you may not.

Q: I’ll pay you $200?
A: I’ll still say no.

Q: How will I know?
A: Keep your ears listening to our Facebook, Twitter, and Blog posts. We’ll post details about it there.

Q: Will you be selling tickets in advance like you normally do?
A: Yes, and the date for the pre-sale will be announced soon.

February 6th and 7th

For it’s triumphant return, the 2nd annual Super Barrel fest will be held in Saraveza during normal business hours. Unlike some of our other fests, there isn’t an entry fee, wristband, drink tickets or special glassware, just some of the best barrel-aged beers we can get our hands on.
We will be offering all of the featured barrel aged beers in 5oz pours only!

This year the draft list is:
Breakside - Wisco Tavern Beer - Our house beer, a hoppy cream ale, will be on for the fest to help cleanse your palates!
Ex Novo - Friends with Benefits - Heaven Hills aged Scotch Ale
Crux - Better off Red - Pinot Aged Flanders Red
Anderson Valley - Grand Cru - Blend of Brother David’s Dubble and Triple, aged in Pinot Noir barrels
Against the Grain / AZ Wilderness - Beer Aged Barrel - Brown Ale aged with (not in) an oak barrel!
De Struise - Cuvee Delphine - Four Roses aged Black Albert
Firestone Walker - Sour Opal - Saison aged in French and American Oak
Block 15 - Super Nebula 2015 - Bourbon Barrel aged Imperial Stout
Midnight Sun - Arctic Devil 2014 - Barrel Aged Barley Wine
2 Towns - Barrel Aged Nice and Naughty 2014 - Barrel Aged spiced cider
Russian River - Temptation - Sour Blond ale aged in Chardonnay Barrels

We’ve also got plenty of goodies tucked away in case something kicks!

Important note! - If the Packers make it to the big sporting competition that is played on Sunday the 7th, we will be ending Super Barrel at 5pm that day to accommodate the Packers fans! If not, then the fest will continue on until close on Sunday!

We will not be offering any jars/growlers to go of any of the beers on draft during the event.

We can’t wait for all of you barrel heads out there to come out and have some fun with us!

Know your ABCs!

Wednesday, February 3rd from 6-9pm!  Alameda, Base Camp, and Coalition have teamed up to teach you your ABCs! Each brewery brewed a different sour fruit beer and we’ll be pouring all three:

A is for Apricot Tart Ale - 120 pounds of apricot purée went into Alameda’s brew during fermentation. A bright sour streak is tempered by a mild maltiness.
B is for Boysenberry Brett Ale - A generous addition of boysenberry purée meets lacto kettle souring and Brett in Base Camp’s delightful spin on an oud bruin.
C is for Cherry Sour Ale- A tropical fruit and citrus aroma is followed by flavor a of cherry sourness.  Coalition rounds it out with a bit of malty sweetness.

Come out and try these fun and experimental beers from three of Portland’s most educational breweries!
