Occidental Lucubrator bottle release and tasting party!

The weather is getting cold, the nights are getting long, and it’s that time of the year to lucubrate once again!

You don’t have to stay up late studying in order to be a lucubrator though… You could instead opt to come celebrate with us and the folks over at Occidental, as they are releasing their annual installment of Lucubrator Doppelbock!

We’ll have them in the house, sampling out their full lineup of cans for you to lucubrate over. We’ll also have Lucubrator bottles on hand for you to take home to help you through those late nights of cramming for finals. We’ll have a special seasonal release from them on draft as well.

So come out and join the fun and be the first to finish lucubrating before the Thanksgiving break!

It’s the Great Pumpkin tap takeover!

Do you revel in the season this time of year? The fall colors, the comfy sweaters, and the weather giving you a somewhat reasonable excuse to stay in your pajamas all day are all great. However, our favorite part of this season is the annual visit from The Great Pumpkin! This year, he brought us a slew of tasty libations.

We’ll have the following hand picked pumpkin beers on draft starting at 11am:

Almanac - Pumpkin Sour - a spiced sour ale with pumpkins.
Anderson Valley - Pinchy Jeek Barl - a bourbon barrel aged spiced pumpkin beer.
Doc’s Draft - Pumpkin Hard Cider - apple cider brewed with pumpkin spices.
Dogfish Head - Punkin - an oft sought after but rarely found treat! Pumpkin ale with subtle spicing.
Southern Tier - Warlock - an imperial stout that tastes like pumpkin and chocolate candy.
Uinta - Jack B Nimble - an imperial black pumpkin ale aged in bourbon barrels.

Our kitchen is even getting in the mood. They’ll have plenty of perfectly pumpkin pasty, soup, and salad offerings for your enjoyment. I mean, when one of the cooks in the kitchen has a pumpkin tattoo, they’re pretty excited about joining in on the festivities.

So come have a gourd time with us on Thursday!

Brewpublic’s 7th Brewniversary

Join us in celebrating Brewpublic’s 7th Anniversary with their official anniversary party! Since we were both born so close together, we like to have a big birthday party for them. We’ve got a lot of special drafts and some Brewpublic staff favorites for your palate’s pleasure.

8. Laurelwood - Workhorse IPA - A Brewpublic favorite!
9. Bridgeport - Stumptown Candy Stripe IPA - a new offering from a Portland classic!
10. Cider Riot - Blitzkrieg Hop - Estate grown fresh hops round out this great cider!

We’re turning seven!

Wow, time sure does fly! We here at Saraveza would like to invite you to come by and help us turn 7 years old!

We wouldn’t be who we are without our wonderful staff, so we’ve decided to do a staff tap takeover. They’ve put their heads together to pick some of their favorite beers to pour, and we even let them raid our cellar for a special treat or two. There will be many great draft offerings and, of course, Hamm’s! Draft list to be announced soon, so keep your eyes on this page.

Sarah (well, her parents) even brought us some beer from the midwest! Now, we can’t sell it due to liquor laws, but we are offering some samples of some super great stuff from the midwest! We’ll be cracking various bottles throughout the day so stop by and ask for a taste of the heartland.

Our new beer buyer Clark has been busy working really hard (read: playing) in the bottle cellar and he’s dying to put some fun things out for people to gawk at and maybe even buy! We’ve got some real gems down there so no telling what you might find on the shelf this day.

Every first Sunday of the month we have Marris Otter play in our house, and it wouldn’t be a party if there wasn’t something to dance to. They’ll be picking and grinning from 7-9pm and maybe we’ll move some tables out of the way for people who want to cut a rug.

We will also continue our tradition of an industry toast! The free consecration train has left the station, but we did find some 2011 Cascade Apricot to share as we toast to our health and the greatness of the Portland beer community at 10pm! This year’s toast will be lead by Mickey who has been a long time Saraveza employee and currently is the Manager and Prinicipal Event Liaison at the Bad Habit Room.

3rd Annual Peche Fest!

OCT. 10TH from 3pm to 10pm in both Saraveza & The Bad Habit Room, ‘Peche Fest’—Oregon’s only festival dedicated to drinking the world’s greatest fruit—the peach—returns for its 3rd year on Saturday, October 10,  at Saraveza and the Bad Habit Room. Stuffed with tart and fuzzy peachy goodness, the Peche Fest features 25+ rare peach beers and ciders, food made with peaches, cocktail specials, and a newly added VIP session.

The 3rd annual Peche Fest has the most exciting lineup of rare peachy keen beers ever (and two ciders) like Upright Brewing’s Fantasia, Logsdon’s Peche ‘n Brett, Block 15 Brewing’s Peche, Epic Brewing’s SOUR Brainless on Peaches, Finnriver Cider’s Peach Brett Tart Cider, Double Mountain’s Peche Mode and even a new beer from award-winning brewmaster Tonya Cornett brewed exclusively for the fest. Attendees can expect a special peach-infused food menu with savory and sweet treats and a peach cocktail.

New this year is a VIP session from 1pm to 3pm, featuring first dibs at some of the rarest beers, extra drink tickets, and entry to Saraveza two hours before the main session. General Admission entry begins at 3pm for both Saraveza and the Bad Habit Room and is $10 for a commemorative glass and 2 drink tickets. Most beers will be one drink ticket per pour with additional drink tickets available for $2 each. Advanced tickets available now at
