Saturday, December 1st, 5PM:New Belgium Brewing’s “Lips of Faith” Series of beautifully unique craft beers has been tickling the taste buds of the masses for years now, and one of the primary forces behind these offerings and their development is Lauren Woods Salazar, the brewery’s wood cellar manager, blender and sensory specialist. Lauren just so happens to be coming to town soon, and we’ll have the opportunity for an evening of conversation, education and delectably satisfying pairings from the talented Saraveza kitchen.
This five-course dinner, to be held in our Bad Habit Room, will showcase the meeting of two places sharing passion for their craft and certainly love of a good time. Check out the menu, and grab your tickets from our Beer Boutique before they’re gone! Cheers!

Black Friday, November 23rd, 5pm: Upright Brewing, Portland’s first farmhouse-style brewery, celebrates Black Friday appropriately with a new bottle release “Untitled,” brewed in tribute to punk band Bad Brains.
The release party at our newly remodeled Bad Habit Room includes a screening of the Bad Brains documentary “A Band in DC” and a listening party for their new album “Into the Future” released the same week on Megaforce Records. Meet Upright Brewing’s Brewer/Owner, Alex Ganum, Point Blank Distributing’sMorgan Torngren-Tatman, who conceptualized the beer, and label artist Ezra Johnson-Greenough. Look for 4 different Upright brews on tap including the Untitled “Bad Brains” beer. Limited edition T-Shirts featuring the Untitled Bad Brains beer label will also be available for purchase for $15 as well as bottles to go.
“Untitled”, a beer with no official name but inspired by the seminal D.C. punk band Bad Brains, is a double batch that is being released in both draft and bottled form. Made in a similar vein to 2010’s imperial pilsener-style “Clash Beer”, this one uses a nearly identical recipe but with just enough highly roasted malts to lend it a very dark brown color. The lager maintains a slight hoppy edge from perle, liberty, and tettnanger varieties but stays smooth all around. It also has the distinction of being the first true lager fermented in one of our open tanks. 6.4%
From here on out the two imperial lagers will be released in bottles every other year, with 2013 marking the return of the Clash beer while the Bad Brains beer will come back in 2014.

WED Dec 12th (12/12/12), 6PM: If only Congress could take a lesson from Wisconsin legislators and their moment of unanimous agreement. 12/12/12 was officially declared “Aaron Rodgers Day” by all members of the Republican and Democratic parties of the Wisconsin legislature. Thanks to Aaron, the question, “Can’t we all just get along?” was answered with an astounding YES!
A Super Bowl MVP, world championship, a single-season passer rating record and just a darn good role model, Aaron Rodgers is a guy we’re all proud of and now we have a day to celebrate it.
Wisconsin State Rep. Garey Bies, officially announced the declaration stating, “I think Aaron Rodgers really deserves it because he’s a tremendous football player on the field, but he’s also a tremendous human being off the field.”
“It’s a great opportunity to give perspective on how a career — and the way you live your life — can have an impact on the society you live in,” Aaron Rodgers said. (Man…almost as good as a Lombardi quote!)
On Dec 12th, wear your green, gold and 12s proud. Come in to Saraveza and celebrate a man, a team and let’s all just get along! And we’ve got a Championship belt for you to try on….
