Saraveza’s Bad Habit Room is kicking off PDX Beer Week with three informative, interactive and fun seminars for the beer explorer in you! Reserve your spot now, limited seats for each seminar.

coffee-beans SAT. JUNE 9th, 10am-12pm: Beer & Coffee Brunch & Seminar  Over a hearty homemade brunch, join Breakside‘s award-winning brewer, Ben Edmunds, as he ventures into the world of caffeinated beers!  On the flip side, hear from coffee roasters about roasting challenges, the competitive coffee climate and collarborating with other beverages.  We’ll demonstrate that coffee beers aren’t just Stouts and Porters with seven different coffee brews, including Saraveza’s 2nd Collaborative brew with Breakside Brewery (featuring a special roast from our coffee house neighbors at the Red E)!  Not too mention we’ll send you home with 16oz of your own malted coffee concoction.

The Color Of BeerSUN. JUNE 10th, 1-3pm: “Wake Up Your Senses” Seminar  Before a beer goes to market, there is extensive testing and tasting that happens to ensure quality and consistency. Meet three lovely ladies who make sure your beer tastes the way it is supposed to (the best job in the world, right?) and go through the evaluation process the way the pros do it. We will be evaluating six beers during this seminar.

SOURMON. JUNE 11th, 2 or 6pm: New Belgium Sour Blending Symposium Beer blending is a sensory art that has been relied on for centuries to ensure palatable beverages.  In this seminar and workshop, guests will take a trip into New Belgium’s oak cellar, affectionately known as “Cache la Foudre”, where they will learn about NBB’s history as America’s leading producer of Belgian-style sour beers, from the brewers and blenders themselves. Eric Salazar & Lauren Woods Salazar, the curators of NBB’s sour beer program, will lead a slideshow & interactive discussion on the genesis of Wild Ales.
