Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Sunday ParkwaysSunday, June 26th, 11am-4pm: Saraveza and New Belgium Brewing are setting up shop at Arbor Lodge Park this Sunday to make buttons and hand out prizes to anyone on a bike!

Stop on by…bring a picture to make a personalized button!  Try out one of our fun bikes!  Kate and Sarah will be handing out prizes for all!  For those needing to veer off the path, the Saraveza crew will be holding down the fort pouring New Belgium specialties: Lips of Faith “Super Cru,” “La Folie,” “Grand Cru Abbey” and New Belgium summer favorite “Somersault.”

Sunday Parkways is a 2-way route of city streets open to walk, bike, roll, run, jump and skip - without having to watch out for cars! The 8-mile North Portland Sunday Parkways route will have two loops, connecting Peninsula, Arbor Lodge, Kenton, and McCoy Parks, plus the Willamette Bluff.  Food, music and activities are located in the parks and along the route including Saraveza and New Belgium’s booth!

Be the First to Try Oregon’s Newest: Logsdon Farmhouse Ales

Sunday, June 19, 2011

Logsdon Farmhouse AlesFri, June 24th, 6-9pm: Straight off the farm, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales is a new co-op in Hood River County making real-deal handcrafted farmhouse ales.  A serious venture, Logsdon only uses locally grown whole organic hops, feeds their spent barley, oats and wheat directly to their herd of organic raised Scottish Highlander cattle and has started a nursery of Flemish cherry trees for upcoming lambic style and tart red beers.
Brand spankin’ new to town, you’ll find bottles of their Seizoen and Seizoen Bretta at Saraveza.  Even though there are NO plans to sell beer on draft, we’ll be pouring 10 liters of their Bretta starting at 6pm - this may be your only chance to try Logsdon on draft!  Most importantly, Dave, Chuck and John will be at Saraveza sampling their goods to YOU!  Come on down and try Hood River’s little piece of Belgium.

Bamburg Onions & Beer: Eat this Dad!

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Bamburg OnionSun. June 19th, 11am - 8pm: Fathers Unite!!  In honor of all the dads out there, we’ve got a special meal* brewing for Father’s Day.  Bamburg, Germany is famous for it’s Rauch beer and food that pairs meticulously with it.  A Bamburg specialty, the Bamburg Onion, is the plate that Saraveza believes is over-the-top delicious.  Pork, bacon, onion all smoked on our Omaha Smoker and then served (if you dare!) with your choice of draft Rauch beer.

So bring your dad, bring your friends or just come’on down for this special meal deal and enjoy a piece of Bamburg.

* This Father’s Day meal is a pre-cursor to our “For Those About to Rauch” fest coming Fall 2011.
