Thursday, April 29, 6-9pm: We’re so proud and excited to be hosting the release of Double Mountain‘s Oregon Farmhouse Ale! So excited, in fact, that we’re making some tasty free snacks to pair with the new brew!
Named “Bonne Idée”, which is French for “good idea,” this beer is 8+%, brewed broadly in the style of a big Saison. It features a yeast blend of 80% Wy’East 3726 (the strain selected for Cheers To Belgian Beers) and 20% of our house Kolsch ale yeast. The malt bill is Gambrinus 2-row Pilsner with additions of malted wheat, Vienna malt and some Dark Munich malt, and it is respectfully hopped with Perle, Newport and Cascade. The hops pair nicely in the aroma with the spicy esters from the yeast; the mouthfeel is big and sumptuous, with a complex set of flavors; the finish is long and more-ish, with a noticably hoppy backbone. In a nutshell, this is another rocked-out Double Mountain version of an archetypal style.
Come at 6pm and enjoy some housemade Boudin Blanc sausages made specifically to compliment the new brew! And if you are lucky you’ll win some schwag brought to you by Double Mountain’s brewers Matt and Charlie!!
