Join us as we help Flat Tail celebrate their 5th anniversary!

We will have the only keg of their 5th anniversary beer that will be coming to Portland.

5th Anniversary Saison - Menage Brah - After five years of operating a small business in an aggressive market, you really start to appreciate the more important things in life; like good friends, good beer, and good beer with good friends. It helps when those friends happen to share your passion for all things fermented. So what better way to celebrate five years of making beer, than to make a special batch with a little sumthin’ from each of our best bro’s. From Phil Lorenz of Nectar Creek Honeywine, Corvallis wildflower honey lends notes of blackberry and honeycomb. Jonagold Apple juice from Lee Larsen of 2 Towns Ciderhouse adds a Graff-esque aroma of fresh pressed apples and hints of white wine grapes in the finish. Last and certainly far from least, we acidified our mash using lactobacillus soured carrots from Joel “Carrots Are The New Hops” Rea of Corvallis Brewing Supply. Carrot mashed? Joel insists that it’s definitely a thing, and we hope you agree. In fact, we’re quite certain this will be the best carrot-mashed-apple-honey-brett-C-saison you’ve ever had. And frankly, how could it not be? After all, the most important ingredient is the bond between bros. So grab your best bros and bro-ettes, queue up some Die Hard, and get down on this Menage Brah! 11%abv

In addition to this special treat, we’ll have two brand new beers from them on draft:

“Free Gluten” A Wheat IPA brewed with Equinox, Chinook, and Simcoe Hops. Simpsons Golden Promise and Weyermann wheat malts form the base of this aromatic and malty wheat IPA. 7% abv
“DAM WILD”  A funky farmhouse ale open fermented with lactobacillus and brett farmhouse. It’s lightly tart with a balanced funky flavor. With the addition of marionberries and pink peppercorns that lend fruity and spicy notes on the nose along with leathery brett funk. 6%abv

We’ll also have Dave from Flat Tail in the house, offering up tasty samples of their canned offerings and raffling off some fun schwag!

Hungry? Our head chef has created two special pasties for the occasion. A small dessert pasty with an apple pie twist, and a savory pasty using braised pork and honey glazed carrots.
