SARAVEZA’S 4th ANNUAL MEAT RAFFLE!!!

Super Bowl Weekend, Feb. 3rd through 5th: You read it right, folks! It’s that time of year again for what’s certainly our most carnivorous event, held in homage of a time-honored ‘Sconnie tradition. Over three days we’ll be raffling off a wide and wild variety of seriously delectable cuts from some of the finest purveyors in the land (including some of Saraveza’s own house-smoked sausages!), and what’s more, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Portland Fruit Tree Project.
Friday and Saturday’s events will begin with “Meet the Butcher”-style free samplings and conversation with rock-stars of charcuterie, Olympic Provisions (Fri), and masters of the game, Nicky Farms (Sat), followed by the raffling off of their delicious wares. Super Bowl Sunday’s event will feature a halftime raffle extravaganza with none other than Wisconsin’s legendary Nueske’s Applewood–smoked meats! Now that’s a halftime show! Appropriately, we’ll be featuring Russian River’s “Blind Pig” IPA on tap all weekend, so come on down for a few pints and win some amazing meat for a good cause!

“The Love Of Beer” Valentine’s Day Screening

Tues. Feb. 14th: Celebrate your love for beer at Bad Habit room this Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a FREE holiday screening of “The Love Of Beer” along side craft pours and yummy Sugar Pimp treats.

Come on down for the screening or make a big night of it and jump on Brewvana’s BEER LOVE TOUR which travels to Cascade Barrel House, Breakside Brewery and finishes with the “Love of Beer” screening!

“The Love Of Beer” is a documentary, by local film maker Alison Grayson, featuring northwest women in craft beer. See the trailer HERE.

Bad Habit room serves two special V-day brews on tap as well as a selection of beers in cans and bottles. The full Saraveza menu will be available during the show as well as popcorn and other movie treats.

Sat, Feb. 18th: AMTelevision presents “ Saturday Morning Cartoon Extravaganza!” at Bad Habit room. Relive the fuzzy memories of your youth one Saturday at a time. “Saturday Morning Cartoon Extravaganza” is a collection Classic Cartoons, Commercials, PSA’s & Video Oddities from around the world. AMTelevision scours the internet, their own video files and piles of dvd’s from an insane collection so you don’t have to.

On Feb. 18th, enjoy the “Best of” collection Of Saturday Morning…from animated Milli Vanilli to Arnold Schwarzenegger selling pop in Japan. Stumble in and enjoy the show in the comfort of Saraveza’s living room; our Bad Habit room offers juice, coffee, beer on tap and a selection of cans and bottles. Classic breakfast cereals, the full Saraveza menu and other AM treats are available too!

The volume will be up, the beer will be a-flowin’ and this house is going to be amped as our beloved Packers once again take to the most legendary gridiron in football as they face off against Eli Manning and the New York Giants this Sunday afternoon. If you’ve never experienced a Packers game here at Saraveza, this would be one heck of a good time to join the excitement! Thurs, Jan. 12th, 6-8PM: Full Sail’s new “Brewer’s Share” Program will feature a series of beers, each being developed by a different brewer in the Full Sail family. The first in the series, aptly titled “Barney’s Special Bitter” (ESB), comes from Brewing Supervisor, Barney Brennan, and will be on tap all night. He’ll be in house too telling us all about the beer and this special program, where the brewer also chooses a local charity or organization to receive a portion of the proceeds from the beer’s sale. Barney’s choice is Columbia Gorge Arts in Education, providing visual, literary, and performing arts to local K-12 students in the Mid-Columbia region. So every pint we drink (and 22oz bottle we take home) does some real good, and golly, doesn’t Full Sail’s brew make us feel so good anyway? As an added bonus, we’ll be pouring Full Sail’s very seasonally appropriate, and fairly rare, “Old Boardhead” barley wine on tap. See you there!

Mon. Dec 26th, 7pm: Here we go, Blazers fans! Another season is (FINALLY) underway and Saraveza will be showing every game on both screens. To add to the excitement, Amnesia Brewing’s super exclusive “Trail Hazer”* Pale debuts at tip off! This beautifully hoppy and hazy brew is just sessionable enough to make it the perfect pint for kicking back and watching our Blazers rip it up! The first official game of the season is this Monday, the 26th at 7pm, so come on down and help us get this season started right!

HOP SCHOOL: Portland U-Brew Single Hop Beer Tasting

SAT. DEC. 17th, 6-10pm: If you haven’t heard of Jason Webb & Aaron Gillham’s SE Milwaukee brainchild, then listen up, ‘cause it’s changing the way Portland’s craft beer lovers are getting hands-on brewing experience. U-Brew & Pub has a fully stocked and ready to rock brew-house and homebrew supply store that allows anyone from the first-timer to the journeyman to brew ANY style. If that’s not enough, the boys have their own U-Brew brews on tap in the tasting room, rounding out this trifecta of brewing independence.

One such U-Brew project has been their single-hop series, in which they brewed the same session-able base beer with eight different hops. On this night, we’ll have all eight on tap between Saraveza and the Bad Habit room for a rare and fun opportunity to experience what different hop varietals really bring to the palatable table. There’ll be samples of each hop to smell, tasting sheets with information on each one and space for your notes. So join us Saturday night for what’s sure to be a fun and educational look at the “spice” in the beers we all know and love!
